CHOPPED PAPAYA
Product Info: Papaya (Carica Papaya) grows in tropical areas on top of a tall plant which botanists have a difficult time classifying. There are two genus and twenty varieties of Papaya. The fruit itself can range from 1/2 pound to 20 pounds. In the United States Papayas are grown in California and Florida, however, most of our Papayas come from Hawaii. Dried Papaya allows year round enjoyment of this delicious tropical fruit which normally has a short season of availability. Dried Fruits are very versatile. Use in baked goods, salads, sauces, stuffings, trail mixes, hot cereals, muffins, scones, fruit cakes and for homemade ice cream. Dried Fruits may be eaten right out of the bag as a convenient and healthy snack. Mix with granola and almonds or in a trail mix. Contains sulfites. Dried Papaya Spears are mechanically dried. Suggested Use: Diced Dried Papaya can be used in trail mix, baked into muffins or scones. It can add an interesting touch to seasonal fruit cakes. Papaya can also be cooked into meat dishes or softened and tossed with cooked couscous. Ingredients: Papaya, sugar, Sulfur Dioxide as a preservative, FD&C Yellow #5 and #6. Basic Preparations: There is no preparation needed for dried fruit. If used in baking, you may want to rehydrate. To rehydrate dried fruit, pour boiling water over the fruit and let sit covered for 5 to 10 minutes. Drain well before using. |
