Product Info: In Japan, Soba is synonymous with Buckwheat Noodles and Buckwheat. The art of creating fresh Soba Noodles are a prestigious artisan activity. The Japanese producers use old fashioned milling techniques to conserve the delicate flavors that would be lost using the more modern techniques. Buck Wheat is still known in France as Sadzzarin. Buck Wheat has a high Protein content and same caloric value as Wheat. Buck Wheat loses its Potassium when roasted and has virtually no B Vitamins. The Soba Noodles are made with Buck Wheat Flour and Wheat Flour, water, and salt. Prior to cooking the Soba Noodles are page gray, after boiling they are a pale translucent tan and are slightly chewy. Traditionally served at room temperature. Suggested Use: Soba Noodles can be used in place of rice as a bed for stir fried dishes or steamed vegetables. Use in soups or braised dishes or on their own with a light sauce. Ingredients: Buckwheat flour, wheat flour, salt. (Contains wheat) Basic Preparations: To prepare noodles, scatter into plenty of boiling water and cook for about 4-5 minutes until noodles reach desired tenderness. Strain noodles into a colander and rinse 2-3 times under cold running water. Drain well. |
